Finally! I've finally bought myself my very own Angolan
Python. They are related to the Ball python, which is
apparent when comparing their head patterns. They are almost
identical, but the Angolans' head stripes can connect on top
of the head or just leave a spot, like mine. As hatchlings,
they are black with yellow stripes. Most seem to have
reduced pattern in the first 1/3 of their body, striped in
the middle, and congested in the hindquarters. As they
mature, they brown out quite considerably.

These snakes are cared for much like Balls are, except they
are: 1) Awesome eaters; they don't stress and refuse meals.
2) They aren't finicky like Balls in the fact that they
don't curl up, but instead are adventurous and hardly ever
stop moving. And 3) They grow to about 5 feet in length, and
sometimes 7 feet. In the pictures above, on 4/11/07,
he (still without name) is only 23'' and 90 grams.
Angolan Pythons are one of the rarest snakes available in
both captivity and in nature, and most sought after snake at
this time. I am honored to be working with such an
animal!
